Description
The KSC Makarov PM replicates the mid-size service pistol used by the Soviet and Russian armies throughout the Cold War. Japanese manufacturer KSC models the late-1970s production version with the improved anti-overrun safety – with a larger click detent on the safety lever and 4-groove rifling at the muzzle. The body is HW (heavy weight) resin, which gives a solid, metal-like feel in the hand.
The mechanism is reproduced with great realism. The leaf spring that combines several functions is made by precision pressing, and the trigger and hammer have no fixed pins, just like the original. Engaging the safety decocks the hammer and locks it, and also locks the slide – handy when holstering. The Soviet double-action mechanism is reproduced too, with 7 tough sintered parts.
The System 7 engine with a 14 mm cylinder gives a fast, strong blowback, and the precision hop-up chamber delivers a straight trajectory. The pistol has a new outlet valve designed for the compact Makarov magazine. The rear sight and trigger guard are zinc alloy.
