Description
The Baofeng UV-5R 8W is one of the most popular handheld dual-band radios in the world and a standard choice for airsoft teams, milsim events, hunting and hiking. It works on VHF and UHF, and the output power switches between 8 W, 5 W and 1 W, so you can choose between maximum range and longer battery life.
The radio has 128 memory channels, programmable from the keypad or with a PC cable, 50 CTCSS and 104 DCS codes, a dual display with dual standby and tri-colour backlight, built-in VOX for hands-free use, channel scan, an alarm, keypad lock, Roger beep and a 1750 Hz tone. It also has a built-in LED flashlight.
It runs on a 7.4 V 2100 mAh Li-ion battery that lasts 12–20 hours. Without the antenna it measures about 110 × 58 × 33 mm and weighs about 190 g. Check the local rules on radio frequency use before operating it.
